Ranchi man convicted for making physical relations with wife against her will

A local court in Ranchi has convicted a man for making physical relations with his wife against her will. The court will pronounce the punishment on September 30.
A case was filed against the man, identified as Randhir, in 2015 for making physical relations with his wife against her will in Ranchi under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
In 2016, the woman also filed a dowry case against Randhir. During the probe, the police found evidence against him, and he was convicted after a trial of more than nine years.
The court will now announce punishment on September 30.
Earlier this week, in another case, a 36-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district on charges of raping his widowed mother.
The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 51,000 on the accused, identified as Aabid.
The incident occurred on January 16, 2023, when the 60-year-old woman and the accused had gone to a farm near their home to fetch fodder from the animals.
When her mother was busy getting the fodder, Aabid attacked her, stuffed a cloth in her mouth and then raped her.
After the incident, Aabid told his mother that he wanted her to live like his wife, the public prosecutor said. He also threatened to kill her if she narrated the incident to anyone.
Despite her son’s threat, the woman narrated the incident to her neighbours, who then informed the victim’s younger son about the incident.
